Bus Seat Tape Tips
Tape repair on bus seats requires starting with a clean surface, free of dirt, oil and delaminated vinyl.
If the seat has been repaired before, any adhesive residue should be removed before making a new repair.
Use wider tape instead of multiple pieces of narrow tape when making a large repair.
Trim loose vinyl or fabric away from tear before applying tape.
Don’t use tape with natural rubber adhesive (duct tape) because heat and humidity will make the adhesive expand beyond the edges of the tape, getting residue on anything that touches it.
Patches with rounded corners (use small scissors) will resist friction better than flat edges.
Remove flaking foam or frayed stuffing before applying tape.
